Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about working with the MaxProtocol platform.
Account and Login
How do I log in to the MaxProtocol dashboard?
Enter your email address and password on the login page. An OTP confirmation code will then be sent to your email — enter it to complete the login. See also: Password Authentication.
I didn't receive the confirmation code by email. What should I do?
Check your Spam or Junk Mail folder. If the email hasn't arrived — wait a few minutes and request a new code on the login page.
Can I disable multi-factor authentication?
Yes. Go to Settings → Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and click Disable next to the desired method. It is recommended to keep at least one active MFA method for account security.
How do I reset an employee's password?
Open the employee's profile in the Members section, scroll to the bottom, and click Reset Password — the employee will receive an email with instructions.
What should I do if an invitation has expired?
Invitations are valid for 24 hours. If the time has passed, find the employee in the Members section (status Expired) and resend the invitation using the resend icon.
Members and Teams
How do I invite a new employee?
In the Members section, click Invite Members, enter one or more email addresses, and click Invite. The employee will receive an email with a registration link.
How many employees can I add?
The available number of slots is shown in the member table header (e.g., 5/100). To increase the limit, contact your administrator or support.
How do I deactivate an employee without deleting them?
Open the employee's profile and click Deactivate. Platform access will be immediately suspended, but the account data will be preserved. To restore access, reactivate the employee.
What is the difference between a team and a role?
A role defines the level of administrative access to platform features (Admin, Billing, User). A team is a group of employees to which networks and firewall rules are assigned. One employee can belong to multiple teams at the same time.
Can the "All Members" team be deleted?
No. All Members is a system team that automatically includes all organization employees. It cannot be deleted.
How do I change an employee's role?
Open the employee's profile in the Members section and change the Role field. A role can also be assigned via the Roles section using the Assign Members button.
Networks and Connectivity
What is a network in MaxProtocol?
A network is an isolated virtual private network with its own IP subnet, deployment regions, gateways, and tunnels. It provides employees with secure access to corporate resources. See also: Network Overview.
How long does it take to create a network?
After creation, the network enters Configuring status for approximately 10 minutes. Once complete, the status automatically changes to Active. You can close the page — the process continues in the background.
Can I change the IP subnet after creating a network?
No. The IP subnet is set at creation and cannot be changed afterward. The Subnet field in the edit form is read-only.
How do I grant a team access to a network?
In the network edit form (Edit Network), use the Assign a team or employee field to select the desired team or individual employees, then save the changes.
What happens when a network is deleted?
Network deletion is irreversible — all regions, gateways, and tunnels will be destroyed. Before deleting, make sure no employees depend on this network.
Firewall
How does the firewall work?
The firewall filters traffic in the MaxProtocol network using rules. Each rule defines a source (team or employee), destination (resource), and action (Allow / Deny). Rules are applied top to bottom. See also: Firewall.
How many rules can I create?
Up to 50 rules per network. The current count is shown on the firewall page (e.g., 2/50).
Why isn't a rule working?
Check the following:
- The network's firewall toggle is enabled.
- The rule's own toggle is active.
- The rule order is correct — more specific rules should be higher in the list.
- The source and destination are set correctly.
Can I temporarily disable a rule without deleting it?
Yes. Use the toggle in the rule row — it enables or disables the rule without deleting it.
What is the Directory and why is it needed?
The Directory is a centralized catalog of network resources (IP addresses, subnets, domains). Resources from the Directory are used as destinations in firewall rules.
Application (Agent)
What platforms does the MaxProtocol agent support?
The agent is available for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. See also: Download and Install.
Where can I download the application?
Go to the Downloads section in the left menu of the dashboard. Links to Microsoft Store, App Store, Google Play, and direct download links for .exe, .dmg, and .apk files are available there.
The application won't connect to the network. What should I check?
- Make sure your account is active and you are logging in with the correct credentials.
- Verify that your team is assigned to the required network.
- Make sure firewall rules are not blocking your traffic.
- Restart the application and try reconnecting.
How do I uninstall the agent from a device?
Uninstall instructions for each platform are provided in the Download and Install section.
Security
What multi-factor authentication methods are supported?
MaxProtocol supports two methods:
- Email authentication — OTP code sent to your email (enabled by default).
- Authenticator app — TOTP code generated in a mobile app (enabled manually).
Who can manage the organization's security settings?
Full access to managing employees, networks, and security settings belongs to the Administrator role. Billing and license management belongs to the Billing role.
How do I restrict a specific employee's access to resources?
Create a Deny rule in the Firewall with that employee as the source. Alternatively, deactivate their account — this will immediately revoke access to all organization networks.
